Personalised gift for a wedding : the art of giving an unforgettable keepsake
Summer is usually associated with holidays, but it's also the season of weddings! And with every invitation comes the same question : what should you buy for the newlyweds ? Choosing a personalised gift for a wedding is a wonderful way to celebrate such a special day. After all, between a wedding gift list that's already been snapped up, a cash envelope that feels rather impersonal, or a household item the couple probably already owns, finding something truly memorable isn't always easy.
A personalised wedding portrait is a timeless and meaningful gift that naturally stands out from the crowd. Created by hand from the couple's favourite photo and fully customised with their names, wedding date or a meaningful quote, it becomes a unique keepsake they'll treasure forever. Printed on either stretched canvas or premium photo paper, it can be delivered within just a few days, ready to arrive in time for the big day !
Why choose a custom portrait for a wedding ?
A wedding portrait from a photo is, above all, a deeply sentimental gift. Unlike flowers, kitchenware or household linen, it isn't something that will eventually be used up or forgotten. Instead, it becomes an original wedding gift that celebrates one of the happiest days of the couple's life. Displayed in a living room, bedroom or hallway, it will continue to catch their eye year after year. More than simply a present, it becomes a beautiful piece of art for wall decoration and a lasting reminder of their wedding day.
Here are just a few occasions when this thoughtful keepsake makes the perfect choice :
- as a gift for the newlyweds on their wedding day
- as a group gift from the best man, maid of honour and bridal party
- as a personalised present from wedding guests to thank the couple for sharing their special day
- to celebrate a wedding anniversary by transforming a favourite picture from the ceremony
- or even as an engagement gift, using a beautiful portrait taken before the wedding
Whatever the occasion, this bespoke creation is one of the most meaningful custom wedding gifts ideas, making your present both personal and unforgettable.
Which portrait style best suits the happy couple ?
Every couple has their own personality. Some love vibrant colours while others prefer elegant and understated artwork. That's why we offer a wide range of artistic styles, allowing you to choose the one that reflects the newlyweds perfectly.
A custom Pop Art wedding portrait is ideal for cheerful couples who love bold colours and contemporary interiors. Inspired by the iconic Marilyn Monroe style, it can be created in one, three or four colourful panels.
Drawn in black and white or enhanced with subtle touches of colour, this refined style perfectly reflects a sincere and timeless love story. Its greatest advantage is that it blends beautifully with almost any interior decor.
A wonderful personalised wedding gift idea for couples who love Japanese culture. Romantic, imaginative and full of character, this style can also be adapted into gothic, samurai or kawaii-inspired artwork.
This customised minimalist portrait focuses on clean lines and elegant simplicity. It works particularly well as a silhouette illustration and is perfect for couples who appreciate contemporary interior design.
Ideal for energetic newlyweds who are always on the go. Bursting with colour and movement, this expressive style perfectly reflects their vibrant personalities.
Hundreds of treasured photos are carefully combined to recreate a beautiful image of the couple. This is one of the most touching custom wedding gifts ideas, especially when family and friends all contribute their own memories.
Whichever artistic style you choose, our aim is always the same : to create a portrait that allows the couple to relive one of the happiest days of their lives every time they look at it.
Votreportrait.fr's expertise : handmade wedding portraits, never artificial intelligence
At Votreportrait.fr, your photograph is transformed into an illustration by a professional graphic designer. She carefully studies your picture before recreating every outline by hand using a graphic tablet and stylus, while respecting the artistic style you have chosen. Every personalised wedding portrait is therefore completely unique and can be tailored to your wishes, ensuring it captures the newlyweds perfectly.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence tools capable of generating artwork from photos are becoming increasingly popular. In just a few seconds, these applications can produce an impressive-looking illustration. However, their limitations soon become apparent : facial features may no longer looks like the original photo, expressions can change subtly, and requests for specific alterations are often difficult, or even impossible to achieve.
Our handmade approach gives us far greater creative freedom when it comes to customisations and modifications. Here are just a few examples of what we can do :
- adjust facial features, shadows or expressions
- create a specific colour palette to suit your preferences
- add the couple's names, wedding date or a meaningful message
- include a symbolic element within the composition
- design a completely personalised background
- Our strengths -
• Faithfully captures the couple's faces and emotions.
• Every edit is completed by hand using a professional graphic tablet, never with an automatic filter.
• A preview of the portrait is sent by email before printing, allowing you to approve the artwork.

Everything you need to know about personalised wedding portraits
How long does it take to receive my portrait before the wedding ?
We usually create your portrait within 7 to 8 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays). During the busy summer wedding season, we recommend placing your order a few days in advance to allow for any unexpected courier delays. If you're looking for a last-minute gift for the newlyweds, simply choose our express delivery option.
Which photo should i choose for the best result ?
Whether you choose a photo taken on the wedding day, during the engagement or simply a favourite picture of the couple together, it should be sharp, well-framed and evenly lit. Before starting your portrait, our graphic designer always checks the quality of the image. If another photograph would produce a better result, we'll let you know before beginning the artwork.
Can i add the couple's names and wedding date ?
Absolutely. Your portrait can be personalised with the couple's names, their wedding date or a meaningful quote that is special to them. These details can simply be entered in the Personalisation section when placing your order, making your personalised gift for a wedding even more unique.
Which printing options are available ?
We offer two premium finishes: glossy photo paper, ideal if you'd like to frame the artwork yourself, or semi-matt stretched canvas mounted on a wooden frame, ready to be hang. Several formats are available, including square, portrait, landscape and panoramic sizes, making it easy to find the perfect option for any home.
