The best personalised original Christmas gift ideas
Every year, the same question comes around: what on earth am I going to give for Christmas ? This time, skip the usual presents under the tree and go for a surprise that will really make an impression: a custom portrait. This original Christmas gift is perfect for surprising and moving your family. The idea is simple : we turn your photo into an artistic creation in the style of your choice.
Why choose an original Christmas gift ?
A photo transformed into a piece of wall art is a great alternative to the presents we usually give : perfume, jewellery, clothes or chocolates. At Votreportrait.fr, a snapshot taken during a couple's holiday, a family portrait or a photo of a beloved pet can become the starting point for a unique creation.
So there is no need to rush around the shops. Instead, let us transform your favourite memory ! The great thing about having a personalised portrait created is that the surprise comes as much from the artwork itself as from the photo you choose.

Our personalised Christmas gift ideas
Photo mosaic
Christmas is the perfect time to look back on the happy moments you have shared. A personalised photo mosaic brings those memories back to life, memories that often sit forgotten on our smartphones or in old photo albums. The effect works on two levels : from a distance, you see the main photo, then as you get closer, you discover the thousands of little pictures that make it up.
> An ideal gift for nostalgic parents or grandparents
Pop Art portrait
This punchy style is one of our best-selling custom portraits. It is inspired by the iconic Andy Warhol aesthetic, with bright colour combinations and compositions divided into four panels. It is particularly practical when creating a portrait featuring several people, as you don't necessarily need to have a single photo showing everyone together.
> A perfect personalised Christmas gift for someone with plenty of personality
Pet portrait
Painting, sketch, comic book, graffiti… at Votreportrait.fr, we have adapted all our styles for our four-legged friends! Dog, cat, hamster or rabbit, whether they have fur or feathers, they are a fully-fledged member of the family. Putting them in the spotlight, with their name displayed at the top of the artwork, is therefore a lovely Christmas gift idea.
> The ultimate gift for pet owners
Turn a photo into a work of art
An artistic way to say “I love you” to someone close to you : transform their photo into a custom painting, sketch or watercolour effect. This is particularly suitable when you are looking for an original and personalised Christmas gift idea for someone with more traditional tastes. It is also an excellent way of bringing people together harmoniously in a single portrait when they appear in different photos.

Original Christmas gift for women, men, couples or teenagers
Personalisation means you can adapt the gift to all kinds of people. A light and delicate sketch-style portrait can make an original Christmas gift for women. For a man, why not choose a comic-book illustration that reveals his hidden superpowers ? A couple's connection can be highlighted with a minimalist style in contemporary colours. As for younger recipients, they are more likely to appreciate a universe that reflects their interests : manga, film heroes or pop culture.
What's more, if you have a particular style in mind that is not available on the website, we can create it specifically for you. That way, your original Christmas gift for teenagers can become a surprise that really stands out !
How can you personalise your gift ?
Each custom portrait is created and produced following your order. The process is quick : choose your photo, then select your options (printing medium, size, number of faces/pets) and, if necessary, let us know about any specific personalisations, such as :
- adding a name or date
- changing some colours
- including text or symbols
- bringing several people together from different photos
- adapting the background or setting (quotation depending on the complexity)
All that remains is to place your order online, and you will receive your personalised Christmas gift within just a few days !
Our tips for giving a truly memorable gift
To create the perfect surprise, start by thinking about what really defines your loved one. A passion, a pet, an important holiday or simply a photo they particularly like can all provide an excellent starting point. Also think about where the artwork will be displayed. The colours and format can be chosen to complement their existing interior decor. Finally, don't necessarily look for the most technically perfect picture. An image associated with a happy memory will often mean far more than a carefully posed shot.
> Ultimately, it is the story behind the portrait that makes it different from a traditional gift.
Why choose Votreportrait.fr ?
At Votreportrait.fr, your photos are entrusted to Claire, a professional graphic designer and the creator of the shop. Each portrait is individually crafted using a digital drawing palette and a stylus, with a process tailored to the chosen artistic style.
Unlike portraits generated automatically by artificial intelligence or created using ready-made filters, Claire personally works on your portrait to refine the colours, details and composition.
Before printing, you receive a preview by email so that you can check the result and request any changes if needed. This makes your Christmas gift a truly personalised creation, inspired by your cherished memories and tailored to your wishes.
Once you have approved the creation, it is printed in high quality on photo paper or stretched canvas, then carefully packaged to protect your gift during transit.
For Christmas, remember to plan ahead. Our usual turnaround time is 7 to 8 working days from order to delivery, excluding weekends and bank holidays. An express option is also available for those who are a little more last-minute.
An original Christmas gift can therefore be much more than a surprise waiting under the tree. Because all our personalised portraits are created from your favourite photographs, your loved ones can keep and display this special gift long after Christmas is over.
