Depending on the chosen style, whether it's a watercolour painting or a pencil sketch, our graphic designer works much like a traditional work of art. The graphic tablet replaces the artist's canvas or sheet of paper, while the stylus takes the place of a pencil or paintbrush.
Every custom pet portrait is therefore drawn entirely by hand on a computer using professional illustration software. Before the artistic work even begins, the software also allows our illustrator to improve the original photo and bring out details that may not be immediately visible.
For example, a dark-coloured dog photographed against the light may appear to have completely black eyes. By zooming in and carefully adjusting the contrast, it's often possible to reveal subtle brown or amber highlights that instantly brighten your pet's expression.

What if my pet's eyes look dark or blurry in the photo ?
That isn't necessarily a problem. Our illustrator can often improve the image by adjusting the brightness, sharpening certain details and enhancing the areas around the eyes before starting the artwork.
